Our tread plate fender, sometimes known as a diamond plate fender, is a strong yet lightweight option for your trailer. The tread plate texturing gives your foot a little extra traction when you’re hopping into the bed. It also adds an appealing, aggressive appearance to your trailer. This fender protects the wheels on your trailer and it also keeps you in good standing if you live in a state where fenders, mudflaps or mudguards are mandatory by law for trailers. The aluminum material is resistant to corrosion, so you can install this piece if you are planning on driving during winter months when the roads are covered in salt, or backing a fishing boat trailer into seawater to launch it.
Installing a Tread Plate Fender On Your Trailer: A How To
This fender is designed with a 1" radius lip on the front and a 90 degree angle back in order to offer easy mounting for either side of any trailer. There are no pre-drilled holes, letting you configure your drilling to your trailer’s mounts. Simply clamp the fender in place over the mounts and use a ruler to chalk straight lines to guide your drill. Drill through the fender deep enough to mark the mounts. Remove the fender and drill holes into the mounts themselves. Replace the fender and secure it using bolts.
