I'd had a set of brake drums that had overheated and were warped. I removed the old hubs, cleaned the spindles, and the new drums fit perfectly. I tried the new and adjusted brakes and they slowed the boat down evenly. The trailer brakes are surge brakes, and I could feel the pull on the back of the truck, when I applied the brakes. The previous brakes had to be locked out, because they pulsed so badly.

Having the wheels greased and the bearings placed was well worth the small extra cost.

The only questionable thing, was I could not get the new grease caps on the drums, so had to use the old ones, which were a tight fit themselves. There was just enough difference in size to make the new ones too hard to place.
