I was pleased to find a source for reasonably priced Dexter trailer axels. Given the price I will order again in the future. But the process was not without a few hiccups.

First my order wasn't delivered when it was supposed to be because the shipping documents did not reflect the garage name so FedEx didn't know where to deliver. I had made it a point to ask for the garage's name to be on the shipping documents. Because of this I had to pick it up myself. When I picked up the pallet from the FedEx freight terminal the packaging was damaged and the axels were not well protected.

Once I had them, I had a couple issues getting the axels installed. One was a crimped wire that prevented the brakes from working (probably a result of poor packaging). The second was that the axel came with studs that were too short. I had to find a heavy duty parts supply company to purchase a whole set of studs to replace the ones that came with the axel. Trailer Parts Outlet was very specific on the axel dimensions and what those measurements needed to be but at no time did they mention their studs might not work.

These issues ended up costing me an extra week of down time trying to get my trailer back up and running.
